The Franklin Township Not Quite Wine & Cheese Art Opening is back! Come celebrate our second annual municipal art opening by sharing your creativity with your community. Artists are invited to setup their displays during the following dates/times:

Township Municipal Art Show Guidelines

1. Eligibility:

  1. The Franklin Township Municipal Art Show is open to artists, age 18 and older, who reside within Franklin Township. Artists of all skill levels and artistic backgrounds are encouraged to participate.
  2. Participation is free, but registration is required. Space is limited.
  3. Only original artwork may be exhibited. Copyrighted materials are strictly prohibited.
  4. The Franklin Township Municipal Building venue is open to visitors of all ages. Artwork presented for public display should be appropriate for all audiences. Artwork submitted for the show must comply with local regulations and cannot contain explicit content that may be deemed offensive, inappropriate, or harmful.
  5.  The Township of Franklin retains the right to exclude any work deemed inappropriate from an exhibit at its discretion.
  6. Artwork featured in the exhibit must be on display for the entire length of the exhibit. Artist arriving after 1:30 p.m. may be prohibited from participating. Artists who remove their works prior to the exhibit end time will be excluded from future exhibitions.

2. Event Registration:

EVENT REGISTRATION DEADLINE - Friday, September 27, 2024

  1. Registration for the Franklin Township Municipal Art Show must be received by the specified deadline.
  2. Early registration is encouraged due to space limitations. Once available spaces have been booked, registration will be closed. Late submissions may not be considered for the show. Onsite registration will not be accepted.
  3. Applications must include a complete photo of artwork to be displayed. Photos must match art being included in the exhibit.
  4. Each participant must display at least three pieces of artwork no larger than 32” in width per piece including the outside dimension of the frame. Multiple forms of visual art are welcome, including paintings, drawings, photographs, digital art, and more.

3. Display and Presentation:

  1. Due to space limitations, each artist must display a minimum of three (3) pieces of artwork during the show.
  2. Participants/Exhibitors are responsible for installing all artwork
  3. Participants/Exhibitors are responsible for ensuring their artwork is appropriately framed, mounted for display. The Township of Franklin retains the right to eliminate any work from an exhibit if it is deemed unsafe to hang or improperly wired.
  4. Display boards are 36” (W) x 63” (H) metal mesh
  5. All artwork must fit within the designated display board area noted above.

4. Show and Setup:

  1. Artists are invited to setup their displays during the following dates/times:
    • Friday, October 4, 2024 | 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. | Sign up required in application
    • Saturday, October 5, 2024 | 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | Sign up required in application
  2. Artists displays must be completely ready for the show opening by 1:30 p.m. on the event day.
  3. Participating artists or their designees are required to be present with their artwork for the duration of the show 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm. This allows artists to interact with viewers, share insights about their creative process, and answer questions about their work.

5. Sales:

  1. Artists/Participants are permitted to sell artwork, however all artwork available for purchase must have their prices clearly marked.
  2. SOLD items must be marked "SOLD".
  3. If an item sells before the close of the show, the item must be marked sold. The item cannot be removed until after the close of the show at 5:00 p.m.
  4. All sales are the sole responsibility of the artist or their designee. Art sales CANNOT be initiated, brokered, or facilitated by the Township of Franklin or its representatives.
  5. Customer questions, concerns, issues must be addressed exclusively by the artist or their chosen designee.

6. Promotion and Documentation

Franklin Township reserves the right to photograph, document, and promote the artworks and the event through various media, including social media, websites, and printed materials.​

By adhering to these guidelines, artists can showcase their work and contribute to the vibrant artistic community of Franklin Township. With completion and submission of this application, you agree to abide by all the guidelines governing the Franklin Township Municipal Art Show.
